The COVID-19 pandemic exposed the fragility of global supply chains, especially in the agri-food sector. Social and environmental issues, highlighted by the crisis, continue to weaken this sector. The current agri-food system, seen as wasteful and resource-depleting, struggles to adapt. Radical changes are therefore needed, and the shift towards sustainable supply chains is essential. In this context, technologies like IoT, AI, blockchain, and remote sensing could drive this shift by improving traceability, automation, and efficiency. Properly implemented, they could boost food production by 70% by 2050. However, their adoption poses significant managerial challenges that need addressing.

This track invites scholars to submit papers that explore the role of technological innovation in creating sustainable agri-food supply chains and the managerial challenges associated, with insights from both developed and developing countries.
