Technological innovation is considered one of the most important components of a company’s strategy. Companies with a greater capacity to innovate manage to develop a competitive advantage and achieve higher performance levels. Nevertheless, some studies highlight the high failure rates of innovation projects, meaning that a majority are abandoned in the process, where using appropriate indicators to monitor performance is a critical component of project management as it allows for better control of the resources allocated and ensures that objectives are met. Indicators are used to improve overall performance and decide whether to continue with the process or to take actions to reduce risk. Studies generally neglect to identify relevant indicators, and there is a need for a deeper understanding of the performance measures that reflect and promote the success of innovation projects of any kind and support project management. This track invites scholars to share cutting-edge research, innovative ideas and realities on the use of performance measurement, performance indicators and innovation.
